16-week accredited training course. 4 days a week: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 10am - 4 pm. (Wednesdays are off for probation). 

 

What do we offer?

 

Our free accredited bicycle mechanics course delivered in our Lewisham training workshop.

 

We provide all training materials plus support for your travel and lunches.

 

  • Bronze, Silver or Gold Velotech Mechanical qualification in completion of the course.
  • A team with experience of the prison system - licence contradictions, probation appointments and restrictions.
  • Ongoing pastoral support and one-to-one sessions throughout the whole course.
  • Weekly employability coaching to prepare you for your next step.

What do we expect?

 

  • It's a bike mechanics course so an interest in and a desire to learn about bikes is ideal.
  • We will support you through the course but you need to believe you can do it and be willing to progress. 
  • We need your commitment. Full attendance, good communication and timekeeping and important. 
  • We are a safe and inclusive learning environment. Follow the workshop guidelines and take care of each other. 

 

Eligibility:

 

  • Over 18
  • Have a criminal or at risk of offending
  • Offence history meets our criteria (will be discussed on application)
  • Genuinely committed to change
  • Able to commit to a 16-week course
  • Within 3 months of their release date
  • Willing travel to Lewisham
  • Have a fixed abode
  • Have adequate support in place now or when released

 

Opportunity only open to Ex-Offenders or those at risk of offending.
