Since 2019, Greener and Cleaner has been working to normalise a more sustainable way of life, help with the cost of living and create more connected communities. Eco-anxiety is on the rise. 75% of us are worried about the climate crisis.
But the normal advice and strategies for sustainable living aren’t working. They leave many feeling overwhelmed, cynical or excluded from the conversation.
There are mixed messages, confusion about what needs to happen when, and a slow pace of cultural change.
Together, for change
This is why Greener and Cleaner began.
We started in 2019 as a group of concerned residents. Fed up with feeling disillusioned and helpless, we began working together to take everyday action against the climate crisis and turn anxiety into positive change.
We are now a community of thousands, passionate about sharing skills, knowledge and resources to empower people to live more sustainably in all its forms.
Our goal is to help everyone work towards a local community that is not only greener, but is also better connected, happier and healthier.
Many people first come to us for reasons other than sustainability – to learn a new skill, meet new friends or reduce energy bills – and begin their greener journey from there.
We host community events, visit schools and support workplaces.
In 2022, we launched our pilot Community Hub in Bromley. Open five days a week, it offers advice, skills workshops and resources for greener living. So far, it has supported more than 30,000 people.
