We’re looking for a creative Social Media officer who gets how football can make a difference in local communities. You’ll play a key role in growing Palace for Life’s social media presence, helping more people see what we do and why it matters. You’ll know how to shape content for different platforms, have a good eye for what resonates and be able to write copy that captures attention.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with our internal team and the young people we support to find and share the stories that bring our work to life. A strong understanding of the club and the wider football landscape is essential for this role.

 

Job Purpose

  • Deliver day to day content and engagement across our social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, LinkedIn)
  • Use language and visuals suited to each audience, from teenagers on TikTok to long-standing supporters on Facebook
  • Capture social media content at a range of programmes, events and community activities ensuring young people’s voices and community perspectives are front and centre
  • Use social media as a key storytelling tool to capture the attention of Palace fans
  • Work closely with Videographer to create educational, inspirational and engaging video content for social media
  • Write engaging social media copy tailored to the tone and style of each platform
  • Support Marketing and Communications team by aligning social media content with wider departmental and organisational goals

 

Job Requirements

  • Have a strong understanding of Crystal Palace Football Club and wider football landscape
  • Have experience of drafting, publishing and posting social media content for an organisation
  • Be able to write engaging captions and copy that resonate with our audiences
  • Have a strong understanding of social media platforms and what works on each, keeping up with latest trends and technologies
  • Have an interest in how football and sport can positively impact local communities
  • Be able to up come with your own ideas on how best to tell our stories on social media
  • Show evidence of tailoring social media tone, format and accessibility for diverse audiences (e.g. trending slang/sayings, easy read captions, subtitled video)
  • Ability to moderate platforms to keep them safe and inclusive for U-18s
